The Founder
Robert Minervini
Art Emphasis Design is a true reflection of Robert’s creative journey. After apprenticing under his father, Tony Minervini. Robert began his education with a bachelor’s degree focusing on Site Specific Sculpture and Conceptual Figurative Installations. Which followed with the opportunity to exhibit his work in Italy for a year. Robert then returned to NYC for a master’s degree in Classical Figurative Sculpture and began to explore his thoughts. In 2006, the idea was born. “Create a business inspired by Art, that individuals can immerse themselves in, with quality materials and the skills learned from his father and other mentors that he met along his journey.” He called it, “Art Emphasis Design.”
At Art Emphasis Design LLC, we give you an opportunity to appreciate craft as artwork. Our staff and services are made up of artisans whose creativity is inspired by our client’s personality. From fully rendered sculptures, furniture, architectural metal works, and specialty custom design, our clients become patrons who ultimately receive a one-of-a-kind piece that they can admire — embodying ‘their’ personality and ‘their’ personal aesthetic…..even at the Commercial and Corporate level.

Our Process
Consultation
We meet to understand your project goals, site conditions, budget, and timeline.
Design & Proposal
Robert develops custom drawings and a detailed proposal for your review and approval.
Fabrication
All work is fabricated in our Wallington shop using premium materials and time-tested techniques.
Installation
Our team handles professional installation and final inspection to ensure everything is perfect.
Tribute to dad
A Deserving Tribute to a Man, That Loved His Trade
Mauro Antonio Minervini, “Tony’ to those who knew him, was a true master and craftsman. From humble beginnings in post WW2 Italy, Tony apprenticed as a young blacksmith. He took every opportunity he could to create whatever brought him an honest day’s pay. Not long after, and like many others, Tony migrated out of the country hoping to improve economically. By chance, he found work in Venezuela, apprenticing under a Greek sculptor, learning to work with bronze and aluminum. He then returned to Italy in the 50’s to marry his childhood sweetheart Giovanna, and together, they migrated to the U.S. Where I am certain, as they landed at the base of the Statue of Liberty, their dreams were as big as the journey was long.
Continuing to find work and improving his craft, Tony took every possible humble step forward until taking that Leap of Faith, that so many hard-working immigrants dream of, as they assimilate in a new land. He started his own company Artistic Metal Works Co.
He built a business and a family, doing what he loved. This love for the work, and pride in the craft, was what gave Tony the will to succeed. A lifetime of Blacksmithing, Fabricating, Machining, Creating, and Sculpting. Passing on his passion and talents to his 5 Children and other apprentices of the trade. Some, who still run Artistic Metal Works Co. and others who followed in his path and left to create their own American Story. One being myself.
